On 24 September 2022, we hiked the Brecon Beacons Horseshoe Ridge Walk, raising £315 for Cardiff Foodbank. The hike took us to the summits of Corn Du, Pen-y-Fan, Cribyn and Fan-y-Big.

The UK is currently facing its worst cost of living crisis in decades. Hard-working families are faced with the choice of heating their homes or putting food on the table. This is a shocking indictment on the world’s sixth largest economy.

Thank you to all who donated. Your money will help Cardiff Foodbank to provide emergency food and support to those who desperately need it.

On 18 September 2021, we walked from Cardiff to Nash Point, raising £205 for Cardiff Foodbank.

It is a sobering thought that, even in the world’s sixth largest economy, millions are struggling to get access to the food that they need. The UK government is no friend to these individuals; the controversial rollout of Universal Credit, its flagship social security scheme, has resulted in a considerable and rapid increase in food bank usage, and it had to be repeatedly forced into U-turns over its decisions not to extend the free school meals scheme to cover school holidays during the COVID-19 pandemic. Of course, the pandemic itself has only exacerbated the difficult financial situation faced by many families.

We really appreciate your donations, which will assist Cardiff Foodbank in carrying out its incredible work providing emergency food and support to those that desperately need it.

On 19 September 2020, we hiked the South Wales Three Peaks, raising over £750 for Oasis Cardiff.

Oasis Cardiff is a charity local to us that supports asylum seekers and refugees to integrate, engage and become involved with their new community. Oasis assists clients from all around the world who have claimed asylum in the UK.

At Write for Humanity, we feel passionately that refugees and asylum seekers who have fled horrendous conditions should be treated with respect and welcomed to the UK. Thank you to all those that donated as we know Oasis Cardiff will work tirelessly to achieve this.
